“SO HE CAN PICK ME UP” 💔
I recently logged into a “secret” ig account that I made back in 2012 solely for the purpose of tracking my weight loss journey. I went through my posts and some of the captions just broke my heart. It’s scary to see how obsessed and desperate I was to be skinny. There was absolutely nothing healthy about where I was mentally and where I wanted to be physically. But younger me didn’t know any better. Going through those posts has made me realize how far I’ve come and how my perspective of health has changed.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that changing your body won’t heal your mind. Also, that bodies come in all shapes and sizes and just because someone looks fit or shredded doesn’t necessarily mean that they are healthy. It’s great that you want to look good but remember that nutrition and fitness isn’t just for vanity but for health.
